Our Roots: To Serve Youth

Founded in 1920, The Omaha Home for Boys is a residential group home for at-risk school-aged boys. Licensed by the State of Nebraska and governed by 70 Trustees and a Board of Directors consisting of 30 individuals who serve as volunteers without financial remuneration.

Annual operating and financial statements are prepared by certified public accountants and filed as public information with the Nebraska Department of Social Services. Policies are set by a volunteer board of directors and put into effect by a full-time professional staff.

The Home is funded by contributions and endowments. The Omaha Home for Boys is a non profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The primary support provided by the Home is residential care and behavior modification programs for needy and at-risk boys. The Home serves youth from every part of the Country aged five to 18 regardless of race.

The Omaha Home for Boys is a member of the National Fellowship of Child Care Executives and the National Association of Homes and Services for Children. Over the course of the last 80+ years, the mission of The Omaha Home for Boys has remained the same:
