The Mission . . .
The Mission of The Omaha Home for Boys is to support and strengthen families and youth.
The Vision ...
The Omaha Home for Boys will offer a premier family based continuum of care services and residential programs to youth. The Home will provide youth with the highest quality of services to ensure their transition from children and teenagers to life long productive members of society.
The History ...
The Omaha Home for Boys was founded October 12, 1920, by members of area Masonic Lodges at the request of Omahas juvenile authorities. The Homes 59 acre campus named Inspiration Hill includes seven residential cottages with married live-in House Parents and other supporting buildings such as the Education Center and Recreation Center.
The Home is governed by a 30 member Board of Directors. Since 1920, the Home has cared for more than 3,500 at-risk and needy youth.
The Future ...
Since its inception, The Omaha Home for Boys has remained on the cutting edge of social services for children and families. Today, besides the nationally recognized residential program, the Home also conducts Parent Training courses, wellness for life training and was one of the first agencies to offer Transitional Living support for young adults male and female with no family support system.
For tomorrow, the Homes Board of Directors is looking to create a continuum of care for children and youth which will include in-home services and long term foster parent care in addition to the existing residential, Transitional Living and Parent Training programs.
